I have been listening to everyone cut up the budget that has been presented with increases and cuts. It is interesting to see someone try to defend it. There are a couple of things that make it interesting to me. One, the numbers that are being reported state that there is an overall increase in spending. Setting aside the earmarks that were said would not be part of Obamas budget but have somehow found a home there from both parties, it is interesting to me that the president has said that many things have been cut back as if that is a good thing based on the total amount being larger than last year. (The rationalization is truly frightening)
Question: How do these people define fiscal responsibility? Anyone…..anyone…..Buller……Buller
The second thing is that I seem to remember a line by line look at the budget and using a scalpel rather than an axe being portrayed during the campaign. Did the scalpel get lost in the move or maybe it is just a scalpel that is as sharp as a butter knife. Not sure but it got me thinking of where this might all be heading so being in a cynical and sarcastic mood, I came up with this cartoon. Enjoy and have a great day all.

Financial Cartoon Humor, Greed over Intelligence
I have been following some more of the Madoff Ponzi scheme coverage the last couple of days and it seems that there are some people who leveraged everything to get invested with him because of the returns he was appearing to give back. When I say everything, I mean everything. Some people apparently took mortgages on their homes to get invested with him and now partly because of the housing market dropping like it did but mostly because the whole investment fund was a scam, people that may have once been well to do are now destitute. I read this and wondered how it was that these people figured it was a good thing to put all their eggs in one basket. I hope they put this guy away for a long time for the damage that he has caused to people and in some instances charities but I can’t help think of the quote or phrase “A fool and his money are soon parted.” It was all of this that gave me the idea for this cartoon. Enjoy and everyone have a great day.

Political Cartoon Humor, Obama stimulus package and the burden (Part 2)
I guess based on some of the chatter across the news channels today it looks like taxes will be the first thing to be used to take care of the spending that is currently going on. The Bush tax cuts are said to be allowed to expire and a possibility of an increase on certain people. It is being reported that anyone making more than $250,000 a year can expect to pay more taxes. Interesting, I wonder if that is the current bar being used to determine if someone is “rich”. What makes me more curious is when that bar will be lowered and it is my belief that it will because I remember the bar being moved around during the campaign. It will be comical in a sick sort of way to see where it ends up as we get closer to Jan. 1st 2011 which is when the cuts are due to expire. A little less than 2 years from now which still raises the question how will the current monster spending be paid for. I predict that President Obama will give 95 percent of the middle class a tax cut (undefined amount) and after that one time all bets are off. I still come back to future generations as well as our selves having to carry the burden. Enjoy and have a great day.

Political Cartoon Humor, Obama stimulus package and the burden
I was thinking about all this money being thrown out there in the name of an economic crisis and who would get hit with the burden besides ourselves. The I wondered how they would pay it back besides increased taxes and came up with this. Enjoy and have a great day.
